Since the summer of 2024, a wind of change has been blowing through the Laurentides with the launch of the Pôle de la danse pilot project. Born out of an initiative by La danse sur les routes du Québec (La DSR) and supported by the Quebec government, this hub is the result of a unique collaboration between five major arts organizations in the region:
Supported by key partners such as Danse Laurentides and M2Culture, these organizations are joining forces to promote dance and build lasting bridges between artists and audiences.
Concrete support for Indigenous creation
Today, La DSR is proud to take a new step forward by launching a call for projects for a creative residency dedicated to Indigenous artists or companies (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis).
The goal? To offer a space for research and $12,000 in financial support to enable an artist residing in Quebec or its Indigenous territories—with priority given to talent from the Laurentians—to develop their choreographic project.
Residency details
The residency will take place at Studio de Danse Laurentides in May 2026.
Two formats are possible: two intensive weeks from May 11 to 22, 2026, or a bank of 70 flexible hours to be used before May 22, 2026. To anchor this project in the community, a moment of exchange and sharing with the public will conclude this enriching experience.
How to apply?
Due to difficulties connecting to Airtable, we are offering an extension for submitting applications. Interested artists and companies now have until Monday, February 23, 2026, at 10 a.m. to submit their applications. In the spirit of fairness and accessibility, La DSR offers personalized support for preparing applications and accepts video submissions.
The selection will be made by a peer committee, the majority of whom are from Indigenous communities.
