Company Presentation

Initiated to the movement by the traditional dance of Guinea while growing up in Wendake, Aïcha Bastien-N’Diaye found a homogeneity between two strong cultures in movement. Dance guides her quickly towards the professional training of l’École de danse de Québec. As a full-time artist and creator of content, she wants to change the world and the vision of dance, whether through the use of words or through a body symphony. Young Wendat with irrepressible dancing energies, Aïcha crosses the universe of living art and gender without complex, with determination: "my culture, it's my strength," she states! Teaching in a professional dance program, fancy shawl dancer, choreographing and dancing in multiple projects, broadcaster for the web program Les Formidables at Radio-Canada, face of the bullying awareness campaign #MyIndigenousCulture, recently performed for the RIAPA, she calls on body material in movement and on her cultural pride through art performances to bring awareness and education to the public. Somewhere between cultural legacy and empowerment, she is an Afro-Indigenous young lady who won’t hesitate to tell you "I’m for here".
