Danse Carpe Diem/Emmanuel Jouthe is a nonprofit organization founded in 1995. After four years of artistic co-direction by six choreographers and performers, Emmanuel Jouthe became the sole artistic director of the company in 1999. Since then, the company has created and performed over fifteen original works, several of which have been presented throughout Canada and Europe. The company’s mission is to foster a close relationship between the spectator and dance through exploration and creation. Questioning the body and the movement according to scenic territories and diverse artistic relations, as well as through concepts such as the Other, Beauty and Authenticity. The company also contributes to the development of contemporary dance audiences through the promotion of educational and cultural mediation activities. Dance Carpe Diem/Emmanuel Jouthe is a member of Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique.
