Created during residencies in France (La Briqueterie) and Montreal, Habiter is a choreographic work that plays with the codes of visual arts and dance. Lit by a single source of light, this installation is reminiscent of a breakfast scene. In this chiaroscuro aesthetic, a series of gestures, both familiar and strange, are revealed, set to the rhythm of the pulsing light. Playing with illusion and the perception of time, the body’s visible and invisible movements subtly modify the visual space, like a tableau that’s coming to life.
