  • Accolades et quiproquos is an invitation to enter the creative process of the choreographers and open the door of that process from the dance studio to the stage. While the choreography does deal with belonging, ambivalence and authenticity, this work is foremost about negotiation. Teetering between a dance show and a documentary-style stage performance, the anecdotal universe of Accolades et quiproquos shakes up pre-established norms and stereotypes about traditional québécois dancing. The work proposes a deconstructed contemporary jig in which the public is invited to travel in a story filled with dance, jigs and body percussion. A deep dive into the heart of rhythm, games, pleasure and precision. Sometimes funny, other times cynical, and always excessive.
