Founded by Artistic Director and choreographer Serge Bennathan in 2006, Les Productions Figlio is committed to creating challenging works that take creative risks. Les Productions Figlio’s art invites the audience on the journey; Bennathan’s work challenges them to question our collective ideas of what it means to make a work of dance. The company’s work does not rest easily within existing disciplines, integrating elements of many art forms, from poetry, visual media to theatre and dance. The works reflect the nuanced, genre-crossing spirit of the company’s creative identity. Through imagination, humanity, poetry and humor, Les Productions Figlio uses art to reach out to people of all ages and backgrounds, creating and touring new and diverse artistic projects for the local community, and the broader Canadian stage. Les Productions Figlio’s most recent production is Elles, the 2012 winner of the prestigious Rio Tinto Alcan Performing Arts Award.
